Youth spirituality
There is a series about spirituality on TV right now, with Anna Lindman, who has previously done a lot on the subject from different angles. "The Realm of the Spirits" it's called.
"Especially the young..." Makes me wonder if the people interviewed on the program are really representative of what spirituality stands for today?
Heard of “Reality Shifting”? Not me, until very recently. Huge on TicToc apparently. Pretty advanced occultism, or whatever you want to call it, it seems to me. Gets the impression that there are similarities with things like role playing, cosplay, lucid dreaming. To create an avatar in one or another realm online, etc. That is, play, albeit seriously.
But there seem to be those who perceive it quite concretely as well. That one can gain access to or belonging in a parallel reality via various techniques. Which is there to live on in. The most advanced believe that one can arrange so that one's earthly body continues to live its life - as a daughter, son, spouse, person - without being noticed. That you continue to live in our world only as a shell, an automaton.
Speaking of young people's alleged great spiritual interest. Got into a conversation about this today with a woman in her twenties. How we got into it, but I mentioned "new age". She didn't understand what I meant, had never heard of. However, she had recently seen a documentary about past lives on Netflix. She found it fascinating, but incomprehensible, how young children could provide so many details that seemed verifiable? But otherwise she didn't have that much "spiritual" interest, I understood it as. Or at least that I could tell with my 80s-newage frame of reference?
