New age is not used

In recent years – especially from the 1980s – use and meaning of the term "new age" has become more subjective and idiosyncratic. From some two hundred primary sources discussed in three surveys of popular literature between the mid- 1970s and early 1990s (Satin 1978; Bloom 1991; Hanegraaff 1996), only a handful of titles uses the phrase "new age", few authors self-identify as a "new ager" and none employs the collective term "new age movement" widely adopted by academics and critics."
