The focus of this model has been to find a way to illustrate how someone can function below their actual level, "regressive", in psychoanalytic jargon. The prototypical situation should be the "sect victim", but that similar processes take place in relation to many types of teachings or idealistic contexts, even those you largely choose for yourself.

It is not the ambition of this model to develop into something like Loewinger's 10 stages, etc.
