Analysis
The audio files play in the Audacity 1.2.6 program. and transcribed verbatim in Word. The conversations are printed in full with the informant's answers and my questions as a running text. Each interview results in a text document of about thirty A4 pages. The transcribed interviews are then encoded in the ATLAS.ti programme, which is specially developed for qualitative research. To structure the material, thematic analysis is applied (Hayes, 2000; Langemar, 2005). An initial review of the interview material results in a more neutrally descriptive, inductively structured result section, where approximately 110 codes gradually fall into eight themes (Background and Relationships; Ideological residency and practice; God or a larger, orderly body; Destiny and life laws; Knowledge and faith; Health, ill health and health care: Establishment and society, as well as Future and Vision). This first review then forms the basis for the combined performance and discussion part that is more deductively structured and where seven reality domains inspired by Werbart (1996, 2000) are laid as a break over the material.
